Why join the Orrs Island Cemetery Association (OICA)
Membership in the Association is required in order to purchase burial rights for, or place memorial monuments on, gravesites in the Orrs Island Cemetery. People who have loved ones intered there join in order to contribute to the care of their final resting place. Some join because they see the benefit to the community of a well kept cemetery. Children or even grandchildren of burial rights holders join to secure a place for themselves in the cemetery.
Prerequisites For Membership
Membership in the Association is subject to the eligibility provisions set forth in Association Bylaws and, in all instances, by a vote of its Trustees.
Cost of Membership
There is a one time application fee of $150, to be submitted with your membership application. If for any reason your membership is not approved this fee will be refunded. The annual dues are currently set at $50. A great many members make additional annual contributions with their dues.
The Application Process
If you meet the residency requirements outlined above, and are interested in purchasing burial rights in the cemetery, you may contact the President of the Orrs Island Cemetery Association for the details.
